Becky beats injury to help our heroes
Trainee accountant Becky Aitken recently took part in a 52 mile walk around the Isle of Wight, to raise money for Help For Heroes. Becky was part of a team of five, who completed the route in 12 hours
Help For Heroes is a registered charity raising funds to help injured soldiers when they return from the front line.
Preparation for the walk did not go without incident. Becky’s plans looked as if they would have to be abandoned when she fractured her foot during training - leaving her in plaster, hobbling around the office on crutches !
Despite warnings from her doctors that she was unlikely to recover in time, Becky was determined to take part in the event, and pushed herself back to fitness just in time.
The team was successful in raising £1500 for this very worthwhile cause.
